www.mikehaywardcollection.co.uk
Welcome to the first in a regular series of newsletters from the Mike
Hayward Collection of classic British motor racing photographs. Our
unique library dates back to the early 1960s and covers events ranging from Grands Prix to Hill Climbs.
All the images are the work of lifelong motor racing enthusiast
and professional photographer Mike Hayward, who started visiting race
meetings with a Brownie camera when he was just 12 years old.

POPULAR PEDRO
The most popular photograph in the Mike Hayward Collection just happens to be Mikes personal favourite - a dramatic shot
of Pedro Rodriguez on opposite lock at a streaming wet Brands Hatch BOAC 1000k in 1970.
This image has sold countless times
and has also appeared on the front cover of Motor Sport magazine.

RACE DAY PROGRAMMES
Old race day programmes are a useful tool in the smooth running of the Mike Hayward Collection.
They provide vital information about cars, drivers and entrants, as well as offering a fascinating glimpse into the past.
Mikes collection of programmes includes the International Spring Race Meeting, held at Oulton Park on April 3, 1965.

LATEST ADDITIONS
The latest addition to the Mike Hayward Collection is the 1983 British Grand Prix, which was held at Silverstone on July 16.
This was the last British Grand Prix event where the race took place on a Saturday rather than the usual Sunday.
One of the photographs is of a youthful Nigel Mansell, left, sitting on a pile of tyres during a break in practice on the Friday morning.
