Mike Hayward is a lifelong motor racing enthusiast who started visiting race meetings with a Brownie camera when he was 12.
His unique collection contains images going back to 1962, ranging from Grands Prix to hill climbs.
“It was much more of an experience photographing racing cars in those early days,” says Mike. “There were far fewer safety restrictions and photographers could get close enough to almost touch the cars.”
His favourite image is of Pedro Rodriguez on full opposite lock in the rain driving the Gulf Porsche 917 to victory in the BOAC 1000k at Brands Hatch in 1970.
